I started working with Adobe Illustrator in 1990. It probably was the first version. Together with Adobe Photoshop it gives me the opportunity to make my Illustrations exactly how I want to make them. Through the years it enabled me to develop my own language in illustration and design. In illustrations I often use Photoshop to add the last extra's. Adobe Illustrator is of course not the first step:each illustration starts with concepting, research and sketching.

Purely by looking at the form and rest form from a letter I saw that I could tell a story in which the letter took a natural place. I drew the alphabeth and bundled my artwork together with the sketches in a book of 106 pages.

The whole process has been a process full of joy and surprises. After I completed the illustrated alfabet I found-sometimes by coincidence- captions about the subject shown at the page.
